Pre & Post Care Instructions

how to prepare for your wax

Get Ready for Your Smoothest Skin Yet! Follow these simple steps to ensure the best waxing experience:

24 Hours Before Your Appointment:

βœ“ Exfoliate with Fur's amazing Silk Scrub or our in house sugar scrub to remove dead skin cells and allow better hair removal.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

βœ“ Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin makes for a more comfortable waxing session.

Hair Length Matters:

βœ“ Allow at least 3 weeks of hair growth. The longer the hair, the better the results, no need to trim!

Manage Sensitivity:

βœ“ If you're feeling nervous about sensitivity, take ibuprofen 20 minutes before your appointment.

βœ“ Avoid coffee and alcohol, as they can increase circulation and cause additional sensitivity.

Skin Care Prep:

βœ“ Discontinue use of Retinol, Retin-A, Retinoic Acid, or Hydroquinone for at least 1 month prior to waxing to prevent skin irritation.

βœ“ Numbing creams are not recommended as they can thin the skin.

Hygiene is Key:

βœ“ Feel free to shower before your appointment with Fur's All Body Wash to feel fresh and confident.

What to Wear:

βœ“ Loose, breathable clothing will keep you comfortable post-wax.

Special Occasion Prep:

βœ“ If you're waxing for a special occasion, schedule your wax a few days before the event to allow your skin time to settle.

Relax & Ask Questions:

βœ“ We are here to guide you every step of the way! Don't hesitate to ask questions, we've got your back... and your front!

AT-HOME CARE AFTER YOUR WAX

Maintain Your Glow with These Essential Tips!

First 72 Hours:

βœ“ Let your skin rest, skip exfoliating to allow it to calm.

βœ“ Showers are safe, but avoid soaking in pools, hot tubs, or baths.

βœ“ Hold off on workouts to prevent irritation.

βœ“ No spray tans or tanning, fresh skin needs time to recover.

βœ“ Avoid sun exposure to prevent irritation and hyperpigmentation.

βœ“ Avoid facials that include exfoliating treatments like chemical peels if you've had a facial wax.

βœ“ Refrain from applying a full face of makeup for 24 hours after a facial wax to allow pores to close.

After 72 Hours:

βœ“ Start exfoliating 2-3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs. Try Silk Scrub for gentle dual exfoliation or KP Body Scrub for rougher areas.

βœ“ Moisturize daily with Fur Oil to keep skin soft and hydrated. Fur Oil can be used daily, not just right before or after your wax to promote softer hair regrowth and healthier skin.

βœ“ For targeted ingrown treatment, use Ingrown Eliminator Serum or Ingrown Micro Dart Patch to banish bumps and brighten skin.

What to Skip:

βœ“ No shaving or trimming between waxes, trust the process!

βœ“ Skip heavy lotions or glitter. Your wax specialist applies Fur Oil, which is plenty for the first 24 hours.

βœ“ Avoid touching the waxed area to prevent bacteria from causing irritation.

Pro Tips:

βœ“ No sex for 24 hours, sweat and friction can cause discomfort. If you can't resist, have your partner shower first.

βœ“ Consistency is key! Pre-book your appointments to maintain smoother, less sensitive skin.

βœ“ Botox & Waxing Guidelines: Wait at least 24 to 48 hours after receiving Botox before getting a facial wax to allow the Botox to settle and reduce irritation risk.
